Daycare Driver

Pediatric Haven Therapy Solutions – Canton, MS • $10 – $14 an hour

Pediatric Haven is looking for Full- Time – Non emergency Medical Driver to escort medically complex children to and from home .The facility is open Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:30pm. Benefits will be offered with full-time employment. For more information, please contact us today!!

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision performs work in the operation of a company owned van to assure safe transportation of patients to and from our Medical centers and to assist patients on entry and exit from vehicles as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Has a scheduled route to transport patients to and from our Medical Centers.
    • Work closely with the Medical Escort.
    • Independent judgment must be exercised in handling unusual situations arising with passengers. Treat all patients in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
    • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
    • Driver is responsible for the safety of the passengers. Everyone in vehicle must wear seat belts. Vehicle is only driven by assigned driver.
    • Driver assumes responsibility for the care and maintenance of the vehicle. Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lamps, air conditioning or heating, warning lamps, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc. prior to moving vehicle. Responsible for ensuring inside and outside of vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled on an ongoing basis. Keep interior of vehicle neat and orderly. Monitors vehicle condition and alerts transportation supervisor of any malfunctioning items which need attention.
    • Driver must call patient before pickup to insure patient is ready.
    • Ensure safety of all children.
    • Assist children with getting on and off the bus when required.
    • Make sure that all vehicles have gas daily.
    • Must clean vehicles daily.
    • Make sure that each child have all of their belongings when loading/unloading.
    • All drivers must perform a final check after each route to make sure that there are no children left on the vehicle.
    • Assist the transportation supervisor with taking vehicle to their routine maintenance at dealership (As Needed) Any repair must have pre-approval prior to commitment.
    • Inform transportation supervisor of any damages to company vehicle immediately.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Each Driver employed by Pediatric Haven should have the following:
    • Clean Criminal Background
    • CPR & First Aid Required
    • High school diploma or GED
    • No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years
    • Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)
    • Ability to carry out assigned route on time
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
    • 2+ years’ working with children (preferred)
    • Current CPR certification, and basic first aid.
    • Impeccable organization and time management skills.
    • Good driving record and knowledge of local streets

Pay: $10.00 – $14.00 per hour

Speech Language Pathologist

Pediatric Haven Therapy Solutions is looking for Full- Time OR part time – Speech Therapist (ST) to care for Autism and medically complex children. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be a certified Speech Therapist
    • One year of pediatric experience
    • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals in mental health setting.
    • Independent clinical judgement required with good interpersonal communication skills to allow for collaboration with other clinicians and health care professionals
    • CPR Certification required upon hire

Responsibilities:

    • Provides pediatric speech therapy treatment to the patients in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Treat infants/children 0-5 years of age
    • Provides on-going therapy on an outpatient basis in their natural environment.
    • Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children to support receptive language, expressive language, speech/articulation, voice/resonance, fluency, social communication, play, feeding/swallowing, executive functioning development, reading/literacy skills, and emotional- regulation skills
    • Documents daily/weekly therapy for each client in the “Daily Notes”
    • Responsible for maintaining good working relationships with coworkers and facilitating teamwork wherever services are being provided.
    • Evaluating and treating children with disabilities
    • Instruct children in activities of daily living
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, patient and family to create an effective plan of care
    • Plan therapeutic programs and activities for childcare center
    • Write progress reports and attend IEP meetings
    • Help them access the academic environment and participate to the maximum extent possible in educationally related activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • work closely with the Registered Nurses and CNA/CMA.
    • ensure that standards of care are met with their level of competence and scope of practice
    • maintain patient records and vital signs
    • administered medication and monitor child for signs and symptoms of adverse reactions
    • provide basic bedside care like dressing wounds, changing bandages, inserting catheters, and giving injections
    • assist the child with ADLs
    • ride as an escort on medical transportation as needed
    • ensure that work area is kept clean, tidy, and hygienic
    • talk to the parents about the child’s treatment plan, test, and diagnoses
    • report signs of abuse, neglect, or misconduct to the proper authority
    • work as team and contribute a harmonious working environment
    • maintain a professional attitude and professional attire
    • use universal precaution at all times

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Each Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Pediatric Haven should have the following:
    • Current unencumbered Mississippi nursing license
    • Have at least two years of pediatric specialty care experience w/ medically fragile
    • Current CPR certification, and basic first aid.
    • Current tb skin test within a year of the hire date
    • Current physician statement within the year of hire date
    • Current 121 form or shot record

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Knowledge of the availability and access requirements to community resources.
    • Participation in the interdisciplinary teams (IDT)
    • Administration of:
    • Medication
    • Intravenous infusions
    • Parental feedings and other specialized treatments
    • Monitor and document the effects of medications, therapies, and progress in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
    • Ongoing observation and assessment of individuals needs and conditions
    • Documents all individual care actions in an official record in response to medical needs.
    • Monitoring individuals I&O’s
    • Notifying parent/ guardian of change in patient status and any other pertinent information
    • Reinforce individual family education for care of individual
    • Knowledge of the competence and scope of practice of other licensed and unlicensed personnel and delegation of duties to such personnel within that level of competence and scope of practice
    • Acts in accordance to Nurse Practice Act while complying with company policy and procedure.
    • Delegate appropriate patient care to the LPNs and direct care workers
    • Monitor and supervisor the direct care administered by the LPNs and direct care workers
    • Maintaining hygienic and safe working environment with the healthcare procedure
    • Providing necessary guidance on healthcare maintenance and disease prevention
    • Keep an eye on each and every aspect of patient care that include physical activity and plus proper diet.
    • Interacting with the healthcare teams for maintaining a harmonious relationship

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Each Registered Nurse employed by Pediatric Haven should have the following:

    • Current unencumbered Mississippi nursing license
    • Have at least two years of pediatric specialty care experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent children
    • Current CPR certification, pediatric advance life support (PALS), and basic first aid.
